Born in Scotland 1953, trained as a violinist and violin teacher at Edinburgh University’s Faculty of Music and at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London 1971-76. Took the 3-year training course for teachers of the Alexander Technique at The Constructive Teaching Centre, London 1977-79.

Worked as a violin teacher for several years with various music schools including The London Suzuki Group and The Centre for Young Musicians, London.

Since 1979 Teacher of the Alexander Technique at The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama 1980-82, The Alexander Technique Training Centre, Dartington College of Arts, England 1982-85, the last 1½ years as assistant director.

From 1985 in Denmark. Teacher of the Alexander Technique at Rytmisk Musikkonservatorium 1991-97 and Musikhøjskolen, Frederiksberg 1992-2000.

Has also taught the Alexander Technique at The Carl Nielsen Academy of Music, Odense, The Royal Danish Academy of Music, Copenhagen, Københavns Kommunes Musikskole (MGK), Den Kreative Skole in Fredericia and run courses for ESTA (European String Teachers’ Association) in Denmark and Poland and EPTA (European Piano Teachers’ Association).

Private practice in Frederiksberg, Copenhagen since 1987.

Has since 1979 taught people of a wide variety of professions and needs – musicians, actors and children in particular.
